I Have a New Literary Agent - Here's Why

Literary agent Mark Gottlieb of Trident Media Group

I'm thrilled to announce that I've signed on with a new literary agent, as of today.

Mark Gottlieb, of Trident Media Group, is one of the most successful literary agents in the world. He represents several authors I admire, including suspense/thriller superstars Catherine Coulter, Kim Taylor Blackmore, Matt Brolly and James Breakwell. Trident Media Group is consistently ranked by Publisher's Weekly as the top literary agency in the nation in terms of the numbers of books it sells and the amount it sells them for.

For those of you who might not be super familiar with the book publishing world, a literary agent is someone who sells your book or book idea to a publisher for you. Literary agencies are different from publishing houses. So I haven't signed a new book deal (yet!). Rather, I have signed on with a new representative who will sell my new books to publishers on my behalf.

It's important, when choosing a literary agent, to find someone thoughtful and effective who understands your vision. We authors are only ever as good as the team representing us. That's why we need representatives who will do the best possible job situating us in a competitive and ever-changing industry. It's also important that an agent be professional, communicative, a good listener, and collaborative. I found Mark to have all of these qualities and more.

I'm at an important crossroads in my literary career, transitioning into the exciting world of suspense/thriller novels in the spring, with the release of HOLLOW BEASTS, book one in the Jodi Luna series with Thomas & Mercer Books. I'm also stepping into screenwriting and writing musicals for theater. I am confident Mark and Trident are well positioned to catapult me and all the facets of my career to the next level.

I look forward to all the good things coming next!
